Japan Sex City Review
Japan Sex City is a new site hoping to cash in on the recent success of asian DVD pornography. There have been a number of new entrants to this market over the last few years, AV9898 comes to mind as well. The idea is to make an english front end to (in this case) japanese retail DVD XXX flicks.
If you’re not familiar with porn from Japan, you should first know that all of the japanese sex videos sold there are censored. They put a blurry dot over the girls pussy and the guy’s dick at all times, by law. Much of the content at Japan Sex City is indeed censored, while there are some that are uncensored (illegal to sell in Japan). Each of the videos here explains whether it’s censored or not before you download.
Speaking of downloading, that’s pretty much the point of a site like this. They take DVD’s and rip the scenes out, so it’s almost all movie based. There are some photos as you can see from the samples beside our review, but they are unreleated to the movies available for download.
The content at Japan Sex City goes back to July of 2006, and is up to date. They seem to release whole months at once, as there’s no dates other than the months. You can search by model as well which is nice if you know who these Japanese porn stars are.
I personally enjoy porn from Japan, because I think the girls look very beautiful and exotic. Also all of the movies are in the Japanese language, so don’t expect to understand what they’re talking about. The videos are very large, usually 400mb-1.5gb.
However this site is not without it’s issues. I was very happy to see there is no DRM whatsoever, which is great at a site like this. You get to keep the movies you download, imagine! The biggest problem I had was their mixed use of file formats. They use a .RMVB file format for some of their movies, which is a Real Audio Media format. They provide the K-Lite codec pack to help you watch the porn, but it still didn’t let me play the .RMVB files. You’ll have to get the Real Video player I imagine, which I personally detest! Most of the videos are available in .AVI divx though.
In addition to the RMVB files, I also found a few broken links making the movie unavailable, and one large video I downloaded and unpacked, only to find it wouldn’t play either. They certainly need someone to go through and do a bit of quality control testing. There is also a 8gb download limit per day, which is clearly stated.
The membership price of Japan Sex City is $33.95 recurring a month. I think this is somewhat high, considering how new the site is and the problems in the members area.
Arggggh, another decent site bites the dust.. Why did I write all that? Some very sexy girls in the samples too.
