PunkGrl Review
We’ve seen a number of alt porn type rocker girl sites over the years, but they’ve always been from North America. This is the first one I’ve seen from England, or anywhere else for that matter! I wasn’t even sure it was from Europe until I saw at the bottom of their site they have a small bar with some keywords on it, such as exclusive british alt girls, uk emo babes, british rock chicks, uk goth girls, british punk girls, etc. Safe to say they’re from the land of the Tube!
Their tour is really well done and attractive, as is usually found on alt porn sites. They have a thing for design, what can I say! PunkGrl lists their new galleries and models in the top right, and through tabs you can change it up to the most popular this month, or the most popular all time.
They have a blog, model bios, favorite girls, a hopefuls section for up and cumming models, and much more. And this is just the free area. Let’s jump inside and see what’s waiting for us there.
Oh one more thing, it says there are 115 alt girls, 11,293 pics, and an unspecified number of HD movies. To the members area, Jeeves!
Generally I start downloading some movies when I start a review, so that’s what I’ll do. I see that PunkGrl offers their videos up in several formats, including WMV and MP4 (quicktime/ipod). You can also stream the movies in a flash player should you choose.
They do have HD movies at PunkGrl as the tour states, but not all movies are offered as such. The first HD video was released on August 14th, 2009, and there are now 4 in total offered. Seems like every second or third video has been HD lately. It is true 720p I can report, at 1280×720 resolution. The other regular videos are 720×576 and 768×576. I counted 16 videos in total.
Most of the girls use hardcore aliases that mesh with their look. Names such as Lu Dynamite, Ragdoll, Phexxie, Nina Terror, Miss Kitty, Chaos, Pixie Dust, Roxy Carnage, Spook, and many more. Lots of tattoos and piercings of course.
Each model has some information about herself, like what city she’s from, age, some tags, and who the photographer was for her shoots. There are around 50-100 pictures per set on average.
All the photos I saw were well done, with creative set concepts, nice settings, beautiful bright colours and of course lots of contrast against dark.
The one thing I really disliked about PunkGrl was how the pictures all load. Instead of how pictures load on a normal website, one by one, they have a “console” sort of thing that loads them all at once. This seems okay, until you look at one picture and try to go back. It takes a good 10-15 seconds to load the page you were just at! That made browsing photos really tedious. And since there aren’t any ZIP downloads offered, it’s really the only way to view them too. I would recommend using a download manager that lets you download all the images linked on a page with a single click to resolve this issue.
Okay so there you go! I think I’ve written too much already. PunkGrl.com has itself a great start, about a year into development. Over 115 models is a testament to their dedication this past year. Plus they’re offering something that I imagine is rather hard to find, since we’ve never encountered it, and that’s alt girls from England.
