Step1Models Review

Solid reviews have been written about Step1Models, an amateur site that focuses on videos. Still, their various scores in the 70’s seemed to have left some room for improvement. I’ve always liked to support amateur made sites like this, because to me that was always what made internet porn so interesting over what retail companies had been doing for so many years. Let’s see what’s going on here.

The free tour is the same as the members area so that’s nice, and they proudly display all their set info in the header. Right now that’s 39 models, 100 sets, 544 videos and a total of 3,682 individual pics of all amateur girls.

From that we can tell this is primarily a video site rather than photo based, and they have a local stable of models who come back over and over again.

The updates page says they update at least 4 times per month, and true to their words I can see from the dates that there were 5 updates in the last 2 months. Even going back further to when Step1Models started in November of 2009 they were keeping the same update schedule.

The action ranges from soft to hardcore, and they explicitly state that they respect each model’s limits. They also say not to expect hardcore with each update, and that’s true, their videos do vary quite widely as far as the action goes.

Checking out my first video, a few things stand out. First of all, they censor the dicks and pussies in their thumbnails, even in the members area. A bit weird, but doesn’t bother me much. I understand they do this to share their members area with the free tour viewers, so they can see what they’ll get before signing up. They just don’t serve up different thumbnails in the members area, which would be ideal.

Second, there are no full length videos. All the scenes are broken into parts, and a whole video runs about 30 minutes. You’ll have to download all the parts individually.

After grabbing the first of six parts in this scene, I can see why they do this. The videos are available in two sizes (labelled HD and Super HD) and the super sized videos are huge. The one I chose to download here at random (well, not at random, more because Alana here looks extra sexy…) but alas, it’s 667mb! If the other parts are as big, breaking them up makes sense. The second part is 316mb in Super HD, and the HD of the same clip is 69mb.

Super HD is 1280×720 at 12,000k. HD is 720×480 at 2000k.

The models page is very useful to get around, as there are only 39 models and over 500 videos. It just makes sense to start navigating in this way at Step1Models, more than most sites.

The amateur girls with the most movie scenes to their names have between 25 and 35 videos. Thankfully the models index page automatically lists their set counts, a nice touch.

The next video I chose was an older one by Sara, back when the site was first starting out, dated December 9th, 2009. I was happy to see it had 9 large parts to download, and was available in the same standard HD as they offer today. Not the super HD though, just the standard. The first part I grabbed was 95mb.

The first Super HD videos I could find were from March, 2010, and they seem to be included since then.

All the Step1Models girls are amateurs, mostly never shot before and unavailable on other sites. Their About Us page states that they personally recruit all the models they meet at bars, clubs, gyms, etc. They get the girls to slowly get into things, and hope they’ll open up and take things further in the future.

The photos are usually amateurish, but are high quality images at 2576×1932, about 1mb per image. Some are 3648×2736 even, at around 2mb.

The watermarks in some sets are large and annoying and actually worked into the scenes. Very strange. Also they sometimes put more effort into the pics it seems than others. For example if they’re in a hotel room doing hardcore, it’ll be pretty amateur, but if the girl is dressed in fancy lingerie they’ll take better pics. No real complaints, the images are massive and the amateur shooting just adds to the feel and overall appeal.

Overall I think Step1Models is a great site and find for fans of amateur teens. It doesn’t have the kind of professional team behind it that you get with a big company, but then again they couldn’t do what these 2 guys with separate full time jobs are doing. It’s amateur and the story behind the site will appeal to a lot of amatuer porn fans.
